We're in search of a dynamic and results-oriented assistant manager for our play shop and concept store in Honolulu. The perfect candidate will play a vital role in boosting customer satisfaction, achieving sales and profitability targets, and skillfully guiding our team.

Success in this role is strongly correlated with a background in customer service, retail management, employee recruitment or engagement, and financial planning. The ideal candidate is someone who is fun, enthusiastic about personal growth and development, ready to embrace new roles or opportunities as they unfold. Responsibilities —
  • Develop business strategies to raise our customers’ pool, expand store traffic and optimize profitability
  • Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to sales staff
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
  • Complete store administration duties and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Assist store manager in completion of duties, including payroll, social media marketing, scheduling, inventory and more.
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Report on buying trends, customer needs, profits etc.
  • Propose innovative ideas to increase market share
  • Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths
  • Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc.)
  • Be a shining example of good behavior and high performance
  • Additional assistant store manager duties as needed
  • Flexibility to work evenings (until 7:30), Saturdays, and holidays as required.
Required Qualifications —
  • Proven successful experience in retail
  • Powerful leadership skills and business orientation
  • Customer management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • BS degree in Business Administration or relevant field a plus but not required. May swap experience for education.
  • Minimum 3 years of retail sales experience

Pay: $20-$23 per hour

  • Skillfully managing cash registers and ensuring the smooth flow of financial transactions.
  • Guiding customers to the perfect merchandise within the store.
  • Showcasing exceptional product knowledge to assist customers effectively.
  • Upholding a polished and organized appearance across the sales floor.
  • Introducing customers to exciting promotions and opportunities.
  • Skillfully cross-selling products to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Preparing and packaging online orders for shipment.
  • Exceeding sales targets by engaging with customers and delivering exceptional service.
  • Contributing to store merchandising efforts to create captivating displays

Required Qualifications —
  • Proven experience in retail and a passion for delivering top-notch customer service.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude and a relentless focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and basic math.
  • Stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • A keen eye for detail and precision in transaction processing.
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with people and working seamlessly within a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings (until 7:30), Saturdays, and holidays as required.
  • Minimum 1 year retail sales experience

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17-$20 per hour
